Physical or Virtual Documentation

Physical documentation has been around since paper was discovered, but nowadays any document can be found on the internet. This has made it hard for businesses like newspaper outlets. Online documents are updated instantly, which has become a huge problem for physical documentation. On the other hand, books are more accurate because they cannot be tampered with like those on the internet.
Some online documents are better than physical documents but some physical docs are definitely better than online documents

Erik Hanberg

Erik Hanberg is an employee at city club, Tacoma. He mainly works in the non-profit sector. What he does for these organizations is; he creates and designs websites for the organizations. He also has written nine books.
When he came to speak to the class, he spoke about how the cost is very low to try something on the internet. Like starting your own website is very cheap. He was very insightful when he spoke about all the different things you can utilize the internet with.

Virtual Scavenger Hunt

The internet scavenger hunt was fairly easy. My team won, which did not surprise me because the internet has become such an easy tool to use that anyone can use it. It was interesting how we tried different ways to find a particular item and had to use creative keywords to find the item.

What is Convergence?

Convergence can be defined in many different ways. But in this case, I will define convergence in the terms of telecommunications. Convergence is when all different types of connections are used on a single device. For example, the iPhone and all the different applications that can be used on the single hand-held device. There are many other tools that can be declared to be converged; but the iPhone is the latest that goes above and beyond.

HTML creations

uhh man starting this assignment I thought I would never be able to create an HTML page. But with the easy to follow, step by step guidelines; it was a walk in the park. It was sort of tricky at first though but finally got the hang of it and published an HTML page.

Vanity Search: Do YOU do it?

The other day I was in the computer lab with a friend doing some math homework. I got my work done before he did, so i had a little bit of free time to play around on the computer. As I was browsing through the world wide web, I remembered a website my proffesor had talked about during class. It was called peekyou.com, a vanity search engine.

In class, we had discussed how EVERYONE, in one way or another is listed somewhere on the internet. One student argued that they are not on the internet in anyway, so they kindly volunteered to be searched on google. The proffesor searched the student's name and it came up! The student was in shock. He couldn't believe it.

The proffesor went on and continued the search, except this time he used peekyou.com. I was in amazement as the student's name came up and showed where he lived and who he was related to. The website even has an option were you can in a way "stalk" the vanity search.

In a way, no one in the world is completely anonymous (at least on the world wide web). It amazes me how easy it is to find someone on the internet. Now I look at it and think, the physical world as we know it has shrunk. Everyone knows everyone, creepy, huh?
